<p>The guide device for a load carrier (2) of an elevator installation along at least one guide surface (6, 6', 6'') comprises an elastic element (22, 22'', 22''') which is constituted so that under compression its stiffness increases, and the overall stiffness of connector unit (20, 20', 20'') smoothly varies when the load carrier is displaced from one position into another.
