Operating a computer with a mouse via a graphical interface

A computer has software responsive to operation of a device of the mouse, irrespective of the position of any mouse pointer on the screen, to show on the screen a window from which at least one function can be selected. Each function is associated with a respective input area in the window by which input data on which the function is to operate may be entered or selected by mouse or keyboard.
