Reducing composition for bleaching or permanent deformation of keratinic fibers comprises a reducing agent and a polycarboxylic acid (I). Reducing composition for bleaching or permanent deformation of keratinic fibers comprises a reducing agent and a polycarboxylic acid of formula (I). [Image] R : H, -CH(COOX)-(CH2)2COOX, -CH2-CH2-OH, -CH(Me)COOX or -(CH2)2N(COR'')CH2COOX; R'' : 1-30C alkyl or 3-30C cycloalkyl; R' : CH2COOX if R is H, or H if R is not H; X : H, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, transition metal, organic ammonium or NH4. Independent claims are also included for: (1) bleaching of keratinic fibers by applying the composition, leaving it on the fibers until the required bleaching is obtained, rinsing the fibers, and washing and optionally drying them; or permanent deformation of keratinic fibers by applying the composition, leaving it on the fibers until the required bleaching is obtained, rinsing the fibers, applying an oxidizing composition, leaving it on the fibers until the required fixing of deformation is obtained, rinsing the fibers, and washing and optionally drying them; (2) kit for bleaching keratinic fibers, comprising at least two compositions for mixing to prepare the reducing composition; and (3) kit for permanent deformation of keratinic fibers, comprising the reducing composition or at least two compositions for mixing to prepare the reducing composition, and an oxidizing composition or at least two compositions for mixing to prepare the oxidizing composition.
