PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for warning a low voltage in the mobile terminal are provided to transmit information, warning that power will be cut off due to a low voltage of a caller side, to a mobile terminal of a callee just before call communication with the callee is terminated. CONSTITUTION: A controller checks whether a terminal menu for transmitting a low voltage warning message in case of a low voltage to a mobile terminal of a callee has been set(200). If the low voltage warning message transmission has been set, the controller checks whether a phone number of the callee is recognized(201). If the phone number of the callee is recognized, the controller checks whether the low voltage warning message is to be sent as an SMS or a voice OGM(Out-Going Message)(202). If the low voltage warning message is to be set as an SMS, the controller sends an SMS message that 'power is cut off due to shortage of battery'(203). The controller checks whether the callee has successfully received the low voltage warning message(204). The controller terminates a current call(205) and cuts off the power of the mobile terminal(206).
