The teeth (2) of the top comb of a comber have two sections (A1,A2) shaped to prevent fiber accumulation at the base section (A2) of the teeth. At the tip section (A1) the rear edge (6) is inclined in the direction of fiber flow (F), while at the base section (A2) it is inclined in the opposite direction. The width (B1) at the intersection is at least 20% less than the width (B2) at the base.
