An axe head has a socket for insertion of a handle. The axe head has a cutting edge that is bevelled on both faces. The bevelled surfaces (4, 5) and cutting edge are formed by a turning machine tool e.g. manually operated lather or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine. Also claimed is a commensurate manufacturing process.
