<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide feed for fish and shellfish containing fermentative material of seaweed detritus; inexpensively and stably supplied on the market without going rotten when fermenting the seaweed regardless of the possibility of addition of salt, and to provide a method for producing the feed. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing feed for fish and shellfish comprises fermenting seaweed using at least one kind of lactobacillus selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus kefir, Lactobacillus fermentum and Leuconostoc mesenteroides after treating seaweed with a saccharide splitting enzyme or in parallel with the treatment. By this method, fermentation of seaweed fine particles using the specific lactobacillus results in obtaining safe feed for zooplankton, small fish, bivalve or other aquatic animals, having high production efficiency and good preservability without going rotten in the fermentation process regardless of the possibility of addition of salt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
