PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pin contact used in a multi-pole connector, capable of having a relatively large soldering area between each pin and a printed circuit board, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A long pin contact wire material RM with its two perpendicular radial sizes of generally M, is used as the wire material. The long pin contact wire material is dimensioned in the length direction to make a pin contact with a unit length. The pin contact of the unit length comprises a pin shape contact part 2 with the both radial sizes of M, even if it is still pin contact wire material, and a reduced sized pin part 3 which is continuous in axial direction to the pin shape contact part, and has radial sizes of m, smaller than the radial sizes of M of the pin shape contact part.
