MAGNETO-OPTICAL MEMBER AND OPTICAL ISOLATOR

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical member which can be made by a simple manufacturing process at a low cost and an optical isolator including the same. SOLUTION: The magneto-optical member includes a translucent substrate (1) which has first and second main faces, a translucent magnetic thin film (2) which is formed on the first main face of the substrate and rotates the polarization plane of incident light and dielectric multilayers (3a and 3b) where low-refractive index layers and high-refractive index layers are alternately laminated on each of the second main face of the substrate and the surface of the magnetic thin film so as to hold the substrate and the magnetic thin film therebetween.
