ELECTRONIC LOCK AND KEY FOR ACCESS MANAGEMENT

The invention proposes a system to allow real-time access monitoring of locked premises (11) using electronic keys (13) adapted to open locks (12). The locks can be put into commnuication with a server (2) with access to a database (1). The server is accessible over the internet so that users can configure the keys (13) remotely to permit entry into the premises (1). Furthermore, the keys (13) can download into the database (2) data concerning the access to the premises (11), to provide real-time updating to the entry record. The lock (12) uses a magnet solenoid which is powered by current pulses to open the lock (12), and has reduced power consumption compared to typical electronic locks.
