<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar laminated layer type fuel battery capable of securing an output of the fuel battery as a whole and enhancing reliability. <P>SOLUTION: In a planar laminated layer type fuel battery 1, fuel battery cells 2 each having a membrane electrode assembly 3 formed by holding an electrolyte film 7 between a fuel electrode 8 and an oxidant electrode 9, are arranged in parallel with one another on the same plane, and serial connection is obtained by connecting the fuel electrode 8 of one of the adjacent fuel battery cells 2 to the oxidant electrode 9 of the other of the fuel battery cells 2.
