DECODING APPARATUS IN INFORMATION TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally attain the decoding processing of important information even on the occurrence of an error in the important information such as header information by providing error immunity capability to a bit sequence itself in a system wherein an image or the like subjected to compression coding is transmitted.

SOLUTION: A decoding apparatus is used in an information transmission system wherein coded information including an image code sequence obtained by applying compression coding to an image signal to which a synchronizing signal and the header information required for decoding are attached is transmitted. The decoding apparatus includes: a means for detecting instruction information in a prescribed bit pattern from in the header information; and a means for using information indicating a fact of transmission on the basis of the instruction information when the pattern is detected as a replacement for information having already been transmitted or its part information, or decoding information including information denoting a prediction mode of each image frame of the image code sequence and capable of decoding contents of the information or part of the information so as to decode the coded information.
