PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift transition control device of an automatic transmission for reducing adaptive manhours when changing the automatic transmission, suitably coping with a fluctuation and a secular change in the automatic transmission, automatically making a correction to optimal hydraulic pressure, and reducing a shift shock and an excessive heat load to a frictional engaging element. SOLUTION: A Step 510 determines whether or not a forced follow-up control flag KF is set. When the flag is set, the Step advances to a Step 540, and the forced follow-up control flag KF is cleared. When the flag is not set, since a state flag FST is 2 in a Step 520, that is, a follow-up control starting condition is satisfied by already reaching reference time T10 or a shift starting point, a target input shaft rotating speed Ntr is calculated. A Step 530 determines whether or not a shift is finished, and when the shift is not finished, a Step 550 performs the so-called feedback processing for follow-up control.
