<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct methanol type fuel cell and its manufacturing method for preventing elution of a fuel electrode material and improving durability of the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The elution is caused due to elution of a perfluorosulfonic acid polymer in a fuel electrode into fuel in conditions of a high-concentration fuel of ≥2 M and an operation temperature of more than 80°C, then the characteristics are deteriorated by the elution of an electrode catalyst into the fuel. The fuel electrode is thermally processed at 150°C to 250°C, so that solubility of the perfluorosulfonic acid polymer in the fuel electrode into a methanol mixed fuel is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
