PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple, compact drive unit driving mechanism capable of continuously, smoothly performing movement of a drive unit, switching of a floating lock mechanism, and the attachment/detachment of a disk to and from a turntable. SOLUTION: The drive unit driving mechanism comprises a disk holder 10 for accommodating a plurality of disks D; the drive unit 62 for reproducing the disk D; and a drive base 60 for moving the drive unit 62 into a space formed by dividing the disk holder 10. The drive unit 62 is elastically supported by the drive base 60 via a dumper 66. A drive shift plate 68, the floating lock mechanism 67, and a clamper arm 64b are provided. The drive shift 68 rotates the drive base 60. The floating lock mechanism 67 switches between floating and lock states according to the movement of the drive shift plate 68.
