The motor vehicle's seat has a connecting component (1) through which the backrest (R) is connected to the cushion support (W). The connecting component is connected to an elastic element (2) which is deformed when the backrest pivots from an in-use position in a first pivoting range. In at least one further pivoting range the connecting component can act upon the cushion support. The connecting component is constructed as a compression or extension means and may be a flexible pull cable.
