PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method capable of treating the PCBs contained in soil and waste water at a low cost in simple manner and achieving PCB emission regulation and to provide a purification device. SOLUTION: The purification device is equipped with a solid introducing section 8 which introduces solids larger than the molecules of the PCBs into the waste water 30 containing the PCBs and a filtering device 3 which has a filter medium of a bore diameter greater than the molecules of the PCBs and smaller than the solids and filters the waste water containing the PCBs.
