PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf device which simplifies shelf mechanism which can make back/forth and vertical motion and enlarges effective volume of the shelf, and it can reduce cost and can offer easier use because of the lighter weight. SOLUTION: The shelf device comprises a storage room 2 which is provided with shelf space of multiple levels in the vertical direction in the room, fixed rails 6 which are attached to the side wall of the storage room of at least at one stage in the shelf space, movable rails 7 which is each located in front of the fixed rail with a connecting member 11 and can turn forward and downward with front and rear linkage stems 8, 9 supported by the storage room side wall and a shelf container 5 which is held and can slide on the rail. While the shelf container slides forward and releases the connection of the movable rail and the fixed rail, the shelf container is engaged with the movable rails and turning of the movable rail is permitted, and the shelf container is held horizontally and can be vertically moved.
