PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high specific gravity material excellent in high specific gravity and rustproof properties, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: (1) The high specific gravity material has specific gravity of at least 7 and comprises a thermoplastic resin, a tungsten powder containing less than 16 ppm of sodium, and silicone. (2) The manufacturing method of the high specific gravity material comprising the thermoplastic resin, the tungsten powder and the silicone comprises melt-kneading the tungsten powder containing not more than 16 ppm of sodium with the thermoplastic resin and the silicone.
