PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that brightness illuminating patterns drawn on reel belts is varied among respective solids since reels are illuminated by using a cold cathode tube in a conventional game machine. SOLUTION: During playing a slot machine game, a high luminance LED 41<SB>a2</SB>constituting an illuminator 41a is lighted to illuminate respective symbols drawn on the reels 2 to 4 with light emitted from the high luminance LED 41<SB>a2</SB>. Since the high luminance LED 41<SB>a2</SB>is lighted only by applying DC current, an image displayed on a liquid crystal display panel 39d is prevented from being disturbed by noise without requiring an inverter circuit. Since a transformer is not required for lighting the high luminance LED 41<SB>a2</SB>, the brightness of the illumination of the symbols drawn on the reels 2 to 4 is prevented from being varied among the respective solids of a slot machine 1.
