PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for promoting raising of fishes, especially a method for promoting raising of fishes by a safe and inexpensive means, by which appetite of fishes to be reared is promoted in rearing fishes in a water tank. SOLUTION: In rearing fishes in the water tank, a white background color is adopted in the water tank to stimulate production of melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) of fishes to be raised to improve appetite of fishes and to promote raising of fishes. In the adoption of the white background color of the water tank, for example, a white water tank is arranged as the water tank. The method for promoting raising of fishes is applied to various cultured fishes, especially used in fish farming of Verasper misery being a large-sized flatfish of a north sea known as a high-class fish to exhibit the effect of the method.
