The device for the conveying of products (1) has a driven conveyor belt (2) or chain forming an upper (2a) and a lower (2b) run. Rails (3,4) extend in the conveying direction on both sides of the upper run, and at least one lift device (5) as a pneumatic cylinder is provided by which the rails and the upper run are movable in relation to each other from a first to a second position. The upper run in the second position extends in a plane below the upper edge of the rails, and in the first position extends in a plane above the upper edge.
