INTAKE SYSTEM FOR SMALL VEHICLE ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake system for a small vehicle engine in which an air cleaner is arranged on the back of a head pipe provided to a front end of a vehicle body frame and a intake duct extending forward from the air cleaner is arranged toward a lower portion of the head pipe, wherein water and foreign matters wound up by a front wheel is prevented from entering the air cleaner so that larger amount of intake can be taken in high rotating speed in comparison with low rotating speed. SOLUTION: A first intake passage 119 arranged on a center line C3 in a width direction of a front wheel and a second intake passage 120 arranged on a side of the first intake passage 119 are formed in an intake duct 105 so as to make a distribution area of the first intake passage 119 larger than that of the second intake passage 120. An intake control valve 126 for closing the first intake passage 119 during low speed rotation of an engine is arranged on the first intake passage 119 so as to open the first intake passage 119 during high speed rotation of the engine.
