ELASTIC SHAFT JOINT FOR ABSORBING AXIAL VIBRATION OF STEERING SHAFT USING ELASTIC RUBBER BODY

PURPOSE: An elastic shaft joint is provided to prevent the discomfort due to vibration by sufficiently absorbing the axial vibration of a steering shaft. CONSTITUTION: An elastic shaft joint(11) is prepared on the upper portion of an intermediate shaft. An elastic rubber body(14) containing a gliding material is interposed between the outer circumference of an inner casing(12) and the inner circumference of an outer casing(13) forming the shape of a cross. The outer casing and the elastic rubber body are capable of gliding axially. The elastic shaft joint absorbs the various vibrations generated in a steering gear box.
