<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inter-vehicle distance keeping automatic controller by which a sufficient braking force can be obtained even when an automobile rapidly approaches an automobile traveling right ahead. <P>SOLUTION: This inter-vehicle distance keeping automatic controller automatically controls an inter-vehicle distance by inputting a detection signal from an inter-vehicle distance radar 20 which detects an inter-vehicle distance between the automobile and the automobile right ahead. The automatic controlling device is equipped with a first speed reduction controlling means which applies an auxiliary brake at the time when approaching the automobile right ahead to decreasing the inter-vehicle distance to a first set value or lower, and a second speed reduction controlling means which applies a main brake at the time when rapidly approaching the automobile right ahead to reduce the inter-vehicle distance to a second set value or lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
