PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for generating a controlled charged droplet by executing the control of the size of the droplet and the control of the charge amount of the droplet. SOLUTION: In this droplet ionization method, the droplet is formed by ejecting liquid from a capillary tube, a certain amount of charge is given to the droplet, and an electric field is applied to the droplet. By controlling the ejection of the droplet in a pulse-like form, and by controlling the electric field of a space with the droplet ejected, a time for ejecting the droplet, the size of the droplet and the charge amount of the droplet are controlled.
