PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate post type earthquake shaking damping device using a panel damper, preventing excessive axial force in the vertical direction applied to the panel damper to exhibit favorable earthquake shaking damping performance. SOLUTION: This intermediate post type earthquake shake damping device includes: a panel damper 12, an upper panel support part 18 connecting the upper end of the panel damper to a beam 12 of an upper floor; and a lower panel support part 20 connecting the lower end of the panel damper to a beam 14 of a lower floor. The upper panel support part is composed of a first part fixed and connected to the panel damper and a second part fixed and connected to a beam of the upper floor. The first part is formed of a member 34 made of steel material and extended in the vertical direction, and a clearance 38 is secured between the upper end of the member 34 and the beam of the upper floor. A second part is composed of pair of buttress members 42.
