PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a gas transmission speed close to a barrier film covered plastic member in a short time, and rapidly evaluating a barrier property of the barrier film covered plastic member. SOLUTION: The method includes a process in which a dummy film thinner than the plastic member comprising a plastic vessel or a plastic sheet is attached to a barrier film covered surface of the plastic member and a barrier film is formed on the dummy film, including the plastic member; a process in which the dummy film covered with the barrier film is removed from the barrier film covered surface of the plastic member; and the gas transmission speed of the dummy film is measured by an isobaric method.
