PURPOSE: A printer having a paper winder is provided to apply exclusively for a journal printer in winding one-layered recording paper by using only a movable passage winding a winding shaft with the recording paper without a discharge passage and an automatic cutting mechanism. CONSTITUTION: A printer having a paper winder is composed of a fixed frame(8) having a bucket for receiving a rolled paper; a movable frame(9) movably attached at the fixed frame; a printing head(20) disposed at a printing section adjacent to a passage and installed in at least one of the fixed and movable frames; and a winding shaft mounted on the fixed frame to wind the paper moved by the printing section. As the movable frame is placed at a first position, a passage for moving the paper drawn out of the rolled paper is formed between the fixed and movable frames. As the movable frame is placed at a second position, the passage is opened. The movable frame has an opening unit through which the winding shaft passes as the movable frame moves between the first and second positions.
