PURPOSE: A device for protecting a wire from a battery for a vehicle to a start motor is provided to prevent a fire from breaking out from the vehicle because of a short circuit of the wire of the vehicle body caused by the vibration of an engine room during traveling or stopping. CONSTITUTION: In a device for protecting a wire(W) from a battery(BAT) for a vehicle to a start motor(M), a start terminal and an operation terminal(C) of a solenoid(SOL) and a key switch(SW) are connected in series between a terminal of one side of the start motor and a ground terminal. An open ground contact switch(A) of the solenoid is connected in series to the wire between a positive terminal of the battery and a terminal of the other side of the start motor. A closed contact switch(B) of the solenoid is connected in series together with a fuse(F) to the wire between the positive terminal of the battery and the terminal of the other side of the start motor.
