A separating system for stacked beaker shaped containers (4) has the containers held in a vertical duct (14) and with a profiled separating wheel (20) pressed onto the rim of the bottom container by an elastic force (A). The separating wheel has radial profiles which grip below the rim of the lowest containers and also press above the rim to separate the container from the stack. This enables the lowest container to drop into a robotic support (24) for moving to the next process stage, e.g. a filling station. A simple leaf spring (22) provides the elastic pressure. No separating blades are required. |
