<p>An automated sample collection workstation comprising a sealing assembly (SA), a sampling module (SM) including a needle, and a solvent flow through system including a pump and valve, where the pump and valve communicates with the sealing assembly and sampling needle, is new. An automated sealing assembly for use in automated sample collection workstations, comprises: (A) a lower clamping plate; (B) an upper clamping plate movable with respect to, and adapted for sealable engagement with the lower clamping plate; and (C) a clamping device assembly including a track plate comprising: (a) an axle supported by an axle support; (b) a bracket connected to the upper clamping plate and to the axle, which is moveably and rotatably supported in the track, and pivotal about the axle; (c) a motor; and (d) a drive member powered by the motor and adapted to move the bracket along the track. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an automated sealing assembly; (2) an automated sampling module comprising a guide plate with a track, two brackets, two motors, two drive members, and a guide; (3) an automated solvent flow-through system comprising a sealing assembly, a sampling module, pairs of metering pumps, and multi-position valves adjustable to define separate flow channels throughout the workstation; (4) an automated pump calibration system comprising a balance, a sampling module including needle, an adjustable metering pump, and a reservoir; (5) automatically recovering particulate samples from a particulate testing device; and (6) automatically calibrating metering pump(s).</p> |
