[Classes 102 (i) and 102 (ii)] Volatile liquids, e.g. liquefied gases, are stored in an insulated container 10 and a part of the liquid is allowed to pass through the pipe 16 to a vaporizer 18 connected by pipe 19 to the container and causes pressure to be exerted upon the surface of the liquid which flows through insulated pipe 21 and surge chamber 27 to the pump 22 where its pressure is raised and it is delivered through the vaporizer 24 to the discharge outlet 25. The vaporizer 18 may be replaced by a container of inert gas connected to the container 10. Fig. 3 shows the liquid flowing from the container 100 through a pipe 51 and surge chamber 270 to a first stage pump 221 delivering to an interstage vessel 52 provided with a relief valve 60 and forming a suction vessel for the second stage pump 222. The delivery pipe 232 is fitted with an insulated container 54 connected by a pipe 56 to a container 55 surrounded by a heating element 59 and connected by a pipe 58 to container 57 of . inert gas. The pumps are driven by an electric motor 30 connected by a belt 32 to a flywheel 31. The suction pipe 21 and delivery pipe 23 of each pump are connected to insulated chambers 40, 42, respectively, surrounding the cylinder which is provided with inlet valves 41 and delivery valves 43. |
