PURPOSE: An energy recovery apparatus of a plasma display panel and a recovery method thereof are provided to increase brightness by reducing discharge delay by accelerating a rise time of a sustain voltage. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second sustain voltage source(Vs1,Vs2) are arranged serially, and an inductor(L) is connected between a panel capacitor(Cp) and the first node(N1) between the first and the second sustain voltage source. The first switch(Q1) is connected between the first node and the inductor. The second switch(Q2) is connected between the inductor and the panel capacitor. And the third and the fourth switch(Q3,Q4) are arranged in parallel, with the second node(N2) between the second switch and the panel capacitor.
