PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic adjuster for a projector, capable of making it easier to adjust the focus zoom illuminance regardless of the installation position of the projector or a method of projection. SOLUTION: A remote controller 10 in the automatic adjuster for the projector is provided with a detection sensor 12 for detecting a projected image reflected from a screen 30, an operation circuit 14 for performing image recognition on the basis of an output of the detection sensor 12 and performing an adjusted value operation, and a transmitter 15 for converting a code signal including the operated adjusted value into an optical signal and outputting it. Then, a projector 20 is provided with an image adjusting device 21 for performing image adjustment such as focus zoom keystone illuminance adjustment, a remote control reception circuit 22 for receiving the adjusted value from the remote controller 10, a signal processing circuit 23 for performing signal processing on the basis of keystone adjustment information, a lamp driver 24 for driving a lamp 25 on the basis of illuminance (electric power) adjustment information, an image indicating element 26 for indicating a recognition pattern for adjustment at the time of adjustment, and a projection lens 27 for receiving a focus zoom signal and projecting the recognition pattern displayed by the image indicating element 26 to a screen 30.
