摘要 PURPOSE: A reflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to improve a contrast and an optical viewing angle characteristic by optically compensating a phase change value generated according to the change of a viewing angle. CONSTITUTION: A lower substrate(10) has a TFT(Thin Film Transistor). An upper substrate(20) is oppositely disposed with the lower substrate. A liquid crystal layer(30) is inserted between the lower and upper substrates. A phase film(24) disposed on an external side of the upper substrate converts a linear polarized light into a circular polarized light. A compensation film(22) inserted between the upper substrate and the phase film compensates a positive phase change value generated by a liquid crystal molecule type when power is supplied. A polarizing plate(26) disposed on the phase film converts a natural light inputted from the outside into a linear polarized light. The liquid crystal layer is formed as a twisted nematic liquid crystal in which a twisted angle is 53 degrees. A phase delay value of the liquid crystal layer is 0.198±0.023. A phase delay value of the compensation film is 20 to 180nm. A refractive rate(nx,ny,nz) of the compensation film satisfies one of nz<=ny=nz and nz<=ny<=nx.
