Around the support ring, a sleeve bearing (164) supporting the inner surfaces of the roller casing (160) is so arranged, that no relative motion occurs between casing and support ring. The sleeve bearing is implemented as: a hydrodynamic bearing, a zero-displacement hydrostatic bearing or a hybrid bearing. The guidance components (171) are sliding bearings. The corresponding adjustable deflection roller is also claimed.
