<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make high speed recording property, reproduction durability and preservation reliability of an erasable type recording medium compatible with one another. <P>SOLUTION: A recording layer 14, a dielectric layer 15 provided to a light incident surface 11a side by being seen from the recording layer, a dielectric layer 13 provided to an opposite side to the light incident surface 17a by being seen from the recording layer 14, a radiating layer 16 provided to the light incident surface 17a side by being seen from the dielectric layer 15, and a reflecting layer 12 provided to the opposite side of the light incident surface 17a by being seen from the dielectric layer 13, are provided. The recording layer 14 is composed principally of Sb<SB>a</SB>Te<SB>b</SB>Ge<SB>c</SB>Mn<SB>d</SB>, and 57≤a≤74, 2≤c≤10, 5≤d≤20, 74≤a+d≤81 and 2.9≤a/b≤4.7 are satisfied.
