RECORDABLE OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM, AND RECORDING/REPRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recordable optical recording medium which realizes the recording characteristics and degree of modulation of a practicable level with laser light of a short wavelength region of ≤500 nm, and to provide a recording/reproducing method.

SOLUTION: The recordable optical recording medium has at least a recording auxiliary layer containing silicon or inorganic silicon compound, a recording layer containing tetra-aza porphyrine and an optical reflection layer in this order and records and reproduces information by irradiating the recording medium with the laser light from the reaction auxiliary layer side. The recording of the high density and high degree of modulation is achieved by the cooperative effect of the recording layer and the recording auxiliary layer.
