<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stock prediction device which accurately predicts the number of necessary stocks of spare parts of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: A stock prediction device 50 comprises an information acquiring part 52 which acquires information regarding operating time of a printer 10 from an ink cartridge 20 having an IC chip 22, a failure rate recording part 56 which records the failure rate of each component constituting the printer 10, and a stock number predicting part 54 which predicts the numbers of necessary stocks of the components based on the information regarding the operating time acquired from the information acquiring part 52 and the failure rate recorded in the failure rate recording part 56. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
