PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily enable visualizing circuit breaking caused by short circuit and secure the safety by suppressing an operation of a handle to an on-position. SOLUTION: A circuit breaker 10 comprises an operation handle 60 projected from a device body 90 to be rotatably operable; an opening/closing mechanism 30 to open/close a contact portion 20 by rotary operation with the handle 60; and a tripping mechanism 40 (thermal tripping mechanism with a bimetal 42 and a magnetic tripping mechanism to force the contact portion 20, flowing a short-circuit current, into opening) for forcing the contact portion 20 into opening, when an over current due to over consumption power or short-circuit flows into the contact portion 20. The device body 90 is provided with a short-circuit display means 50 for displaying a short-circuit state by moving a latch member 41 from a storage position to a tripping position by being attracted to a magnetized fixed iron core 44.
