PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator, improved in a cold air circulating passage to a storage case to decrease leakage of heat to the outside, and improved in cooling efficiency to reduce the amount of power consumed. SOLUTION: This refrigerator is composed of a storage chamber 7 disposed adjacent to a machine room 30 provided with a compressor 31 and on the front through a heat insulation wall 27; storage cases 11, 12 held on the inner surface of a front door 9 and drawn as the door is opened; a cold air blow-off port 19 provided in the back of the storage chamber to introduce the cold air into the storage case; a return opening 25 provided in the back of the storage case to return the cold air circulated through the interior of the case to a cooling device 13, and a return duct 26 provided between the return opening and an intake port of the cooling device, wherein the return duct is disposed to cover a heat insulating wall surface 27 opposite to the compressor with a small clearance.
