摘要 <p>A first tool is used for injection of a first material component to mold a preform and a second tool(4) for injection of a second material component onto areas of the preform. The second tool comprises two tool halves, one(5) of which has centering pins(6) capable of movement along their length. A first tool is used for injection of a first material component to mold a preform and a second tool(4) for injection of a second material component onto areas of the preform. The second tool comprises two tool halves, one(5) of which has centering pins(6) capable of movement along their length. In a first position the pins extend into recesses premolded into a preform. In a second position they are retracted from the recesses and lie outside cavities in the preform for injecting a second material component. In the retracted position the front end of each pin(6) forms the boundary face of each cavity for molding the second material component. On completion of the molded product(8) the pins act as ejectors. An independent claim is included for a process for multi-component injection molding, in particular two component molding of plastic parts, using the claimed tool system in which: a) a first plastic component is injected into a first tool to create a preform; b) the preform is demolded and moved by hand into an open second injection tool(4) and located on centering pins; d) the second tool is closed and the centering pins retracted prior to injection of the second material component.</p>
