PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor of which a pig tail connected to a brush is stably held on the holder surface of a brush holder. SOLUTION: The electric motor 30 comprises a brush holding part 54 that holds a brush 44 on a holder surface 53A of a brush holder 33, and a pig tail holding means 60 that holds a pig tail 45 connected to the brush 44. The pig tail holding means 60 holds the pig tail 45 in both directions, or the lateral direction along the holder surface 53A and the longitudinal direction across the holder surface 53A.
