PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating gas continuously and safely using a biomass fuel (sawdust etc.). SOLUTION: The method for gasifying a biomass fuel comprises a process of supplying continuously a powdery or granular biomass fuel 12 into a combustion gasification furnace cylinder 10 from a fuel supplying apparatus 59, a process of cracking thermally the supplied biomass fuel 12 while it is falling down through a thermal cracking space inside the combustion gasification furnace cylinder 10, a process of oxidizing a gas generated by burning of the biomass fuel 12 by supplied air passing downward through the thermal cracking space by suction to make carbon dioxide, a process of reducing carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide by taking oxygen from carbon dioxide while passing through a reduction space of a pulverized coal, and a process of removing fumes by passing the decomposed carbon monoxide through a filter.
