<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable use and storage of a battery comprising a negative electrode using lithium or other light metal and their alloys as an active material and an organic electrolyte, under high temperature, for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: An Li/(CF)<SB>n</SB>based coin type battery has a metal lithium of a negative electrode 2 compression bonded to inside of a cover 1 of a stainless steel which serves also as a negative electrode terminal. A gasket 6 of a PPS, or PFA resin is fitted to the periphery of the cover 1, and is sealed with a stainless steel case 5 which serves also as a positive electrode terminal.
