PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely assign an application to an effective function key in an image forming apparatus which is provided with a function to select a desired application out of a plurality of applications. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus that can include a plurality of applications is provided with a means which displays a screen used for selecting an application on an operation display part of the image forming apparatus; and a means for assigning a selected application to a function key when the function key is pushed for the selected application.
