The invention relates to a method of chemically modifying one or more chemical compounds wherein the method comprises the step of subjecting the one or more chemical compounds in liquid state to a plasma treatment. The invention in particular concerns chemical modification of organic compounds selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbons, such as paraffins, olefins, polyolefin's, polyalphaolefins, esters, polyesters, oxygenates, carbonyls and aromatic compounds; and organosilicones, such as silicone and silicone derivatives, fluorosilicones, silicon esters, siloxanes, silanes, chlorosilanes, alkoxysilanes, aminosilanes, polysilanes polydialkylsiloxanes, siloxanes containing phenyl sustituents, hydrosilylated olefins, silanols, silazanes; and mixtures thereof. The chemical modification may e.g. be a di- or oligomerisation or preferably addition of a desired chemical group. The invention also includes the produced compounds. The method is relatively fast and cheap and furthermore new chemical compounds can be produced. |
