The invention relates to a joint element of an implant which replaces at least a part of a joint that is formed by at least one first and one second bone end. The implant comprises a first implant element, arranged on the first bone end, a second implant element, arranged on the second bone end, and the joint element. The joint element comprises a first bearing surface resting on the first implant element, a second bearing surface resting on the second implant element, and a contact surface. Said contact surface extends between a first edge area formed between the first bearing surface and the contact surface and a second edge area formed between the second bearing surface and the contact surface and allows for contact with the tissue surrounding the joint element. The aim of the invention is to improve the joint element in such a manner that it prevents the tissue surrounding the joint element from being damaged and allows for at least equivalent mobility of the joint. For this purpose, the contact surface between the first and the second edge area comprises at least one contact surface area that is polydirectionally cambered facing away from the joint element. The invention also relates to an implant comprising the above-mentioned joint element. |
