CONTINUOUS REPRODUCTION DATA TRANSFER UNIT FOR ARBITRARY POSITION REPRODUCTION, MPEG DATA TRANSFER UNIT FOR ARBITRARY POSITION REPRODUCTION, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of reproduction with skipping by using an IP network to transmit an MPEG2 transport stream from a distribution server in a video distribution (VOD) system for receiving the stream at a receiving client.

SOLUTION: A PCR jump amount managing section 306 reads TS packets corresponding to a designated time when a jumping command is inputted, and the PCR jump amount managing section 306 determines a difference from the last time regarding a PCR (program clock reference) in the control information of a GOP (group of picture) and manages a total PCR jump amount. Thus, a PCR updating section 308, a PTS updating section 309, and a DTS updating section 310 perform updates so as to ensure the continuity of PCR, PTS, and DTS.
